Perinatal Mental Health Services for East Surrey

We are pleased to announce that specialist perinatal mental health services for families in East Surrey will be transferring to Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust from 1 July 2022.

This change will help to improve pathways for pregnant women and birthing people in Surrey with a single provider working across Surrey Heartlands to support those with moderate to severe or complex mental ill health during their maternity journey. Additional funding has been agreed to enable the service to expand to meet the requirements of the NHS Long Term Plan and improve access to perinatal mental health support. Recruitment for clinical staff to support the service is underway.

The existing provider, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is working with Surrey and Borders to ensure a smooth transfer of patients and further details will be published next month including the new referral process. Existing patients will continue to be treated by Sussex Partnership until 1 October 2022 to make sure high quality care is available to everyone who needs it.

If you have any queries about this change, please contact Surrey Heartlands communications manager, Stephanie Forster, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., in the first instance.
